H0 scale bridge style SilverRiver, for model trains and dioramas.
Set the length of the bridge
The 200mm modules and the length of the bridge
The bridge is made up of modules of 200mm length, which can be joined together to create bridges of longer lengths. Thus, the bridges can be 40cm, 60cm, 80cm…
For this type of bridge, each 200mm section rests on a pillar, as happens in reality, and there is always a space between modules for expansion. To adjust the modules to each other, there are pieces that allow the joining of two modules, disguising the fit in the track area.
If a specific length is desired, customized to a few specific centimeters, the ends can be designed with the specified size so that the bridge is the desired length.
Below we provide some examples of bridge measurements with their side pylons at the ends, so that you have an idea of how the sizes look. As we have already mentioned, if the size you need does not fit the standard size, do not worry, it can be adapted by modifying the ends.
Set the height of the bridge
We specify the height of the track
To choose the height of the bridge, we must first know the height where the track goes. The height of the plane where the track goes, type C or K of Marklin or similar.
From this height, we calculate the heights of the bridge pillars. In each pillar we have a part of stone or concrete, and a part where the iron damping structure goes, which varies in shape depending on the height of the pylon we have.
It should be remembered that this type of bridge was designed primarily to cross rivers, and its pillars are not very high. We have pre-designed heights of 70mm and 100mm for these types of bridges.
For other unspecified heights, it can be designed to suit the client, you just have to do a feasibility study and a budget.
The geometry of the bridge varies slightly depending on the type of track it will accommodate, but this gives us the possibility of modifying this geometry for other types of track from other manufacturers.
Configure bridge options
In this bridge we have different options to choose from for the final configuration and the order.
1.- The first option we have to define for bridges of the Märklin C track type or similar, is the covering of the ballast structure of the track:
OP01-F wood simulation covering With a series of wooden planks that reach the tracks and leave them hidden except for the central part.
OP01-R metal grating covering With a metal grating platform that covers the entire ballast structure up to the track, leaving the central part uncovered.
2.- In both cases, the central part of the track is uncovered, visible, and we have the option of covering it with a grating, which releases the Märklin power pivots. This grating is ordered separately to cover each 200 mm module. (+2)
3.- Finally we have two types of central pillars for the SilverRiver bridge, a low type of pillar for low structure bridges, and another type of higher concrete pillar.
Below you have all the graphic information for these options. ( -R or -S )
