IRONHORSE Bridge

H0 scale IronHorse style bridge for model railways and dioramas.

Setting the length of the bridge

200MM MODULES AND LENGTH OF THE BRIDGE

The bridge is made up of 200mm long modules, which can be joined together to make it longer. This way, the bridge can be 20cm, 40cm, 60cm… long.

To join the modules together, there are some pieces that allow the connection of two modules, making a section of 40cm, without having to place a pillar underneath for support. However, if you want pillars in each 20cm section, this can also be done.

If a specific, customised length of a few centimetres is required, a piece can be designed with the specified size to match the desired length of the bridge.

Setting the height of the bridge

SPECIFYING THE TRACK HEIGHT

To choose the height of the bridge, we first need to know the height where the track goes the height of the Märklin type C track plane or similar.

Based on this value, we calculate the height of the bridge pillars. Each pillar is made up of a stone part, which is fixed, and a part whose structure is made of iron girders, which varies according to the increment applied.

We have a range of heights designed for this bridge from 100mm track plane height, up to 140mm, increasing by 5mm in between.

For other unspecified heights, we can design them to suit the customer: all we need is a feasibility study and a quote.

Pre-defined heights for this type of bridge, IronHorse:

  • 100 mm.
  • 105 mm.
  • 110 mm.
  • 115 mm.
  • 120 mm.
  • 125 mm.
  • 130 mm.
  • 140 mm.

For the central pillars the same criteria is followed, and it is advisable to plan a central pillar for every 40cm of bridge length. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee the structural viability of the bridge.
